Amy Winehouse’s husband Blake Fielder-Civil has turned down a what was his second chance to use a “get out of jail free” card, in the UK, this time, turning down a rehab session.
Prison authorities offered him a two month lowering of his sentence at UK’s Suffolk’s Edmunds Hill prison if he would just do a rehab, as reported by The Sun .
Fielder-Civil refused and had chosen to stay behind bars to serve out the rest of his sentence of 27 months for GBH and perverting the course of justice.
He was reportedly offered release on the conditions that he wore an electronic tag, took on a 7pm curfew and agreed to move in with his mother Georgette at her home in Nottinghamshire.
The somewhat ungrateful 26-year-old insisted that he be released to his home in Camden, North London, whereupon the officials retracted their offer.
A friend of Winehouse is reported to have said: “This will be another blow for her. Blake could have gone to rehab and sorted himself out but would rather see out his sentence in prison. All he wants is a free reign when he leaves, which means living with Amy back in Camden.
“But if he is turning down these chances to leave jail and get clean, it doesn’t bode well for him and Amy when he finally does get out”
We’d agree that it doesn’t bode well.. selecting prison over your mum ??
