According to Digital Spy, Heath Ledger has received a posthumous honour from the Australian Film Institute (AFI) who gave the late actor, whose death occurred in January, their best actor award for his role in the Dark Knight film. Ledger portrayed the Joker.
Sister Kate reportedly fought back tears as she accepted the prize oh his behalf. She said: “It has been without a doubt the most difficult year, losing such a loved family member.
“We are so proud of him and humbly accept this award on behalf of his beautiful daughter who we will cherish forever.”
