Lady Gaga Reveals Why Everyone Freaked Out When She Left the Oscars

While appearing on “The Graham Norton Show” recently, Lady Gaga talked about a funny anecdote that happened to her after the 2019 Oscars ceremony.

The Iconic Jewel

The Just Dance hitmaker attended the ceremony that year as a double nominee – both as leading actress for A Star Is Born, and that film’s soundtrack single “Shallow”, which was up for the Best original song.

That night she wore a large diamond with a long history. Actually, it was the 128-carat yellow diamond worth more than $30 million (£22 million), which was last worn by Audrey Hepburn during the Breakfast At Tiffany’s press tour in 1961.

After winning her first Oscar for penning “Shallow”, the star decided to treat herself with some Taco Bell, however, not everything went according to the plan.

When “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” Turns Into “Midnight Snack at Taco Bell”

Gaga recalled: ‘I didn’t know what was going to happen that night – I was just so happy to be there. My sister and I were barrelling through champagne backstage and when we left, I didn’t tell anyone, and I still had the diamond on.

She continued: ‘Everyone freaked out that I was still wearing it – when I went to Madonna’s house, security guards were side-eyeing me and eventually, when we were heading to Taco Bell, my car was pulled over and Tiffany’s security politely removed it from my neck!’

The Bad Romance singer also spoke a bit about her newly released album Chromatica and whether it was odd to launch it during lockdown.

‘I am so excited – I’ve been making it for two and half years. It’s not odd.

What is odd is being in the middle of a global pandemic! It is the way it is, and we don’t always get to have things go the way that we see them in life.

I’ve always had instilled in me that life can, and will, get very hard, so it’s very important to roll with the punches and deal with it.’
