The Kardashian-Jenner-West clan has officially grown since Kim Kardashian and Kanye West welcomed their third child last week.
The Struggle
The happy couple welcomed their baby girl via a surrogate on 16 January, 2018. Due to medical complications with her uterus, 37-year-old Kim wasn’t able to carry a baby on her own but hired a surrogate.
Kim documented her struggles to conceive a third baby on her hit show Keeping With the Kardashians, including several procedures in the effort to get pregnant. She was more eager than ever to expand her family of four after the predicament in Paris.
Kim felt like she had to hurry up because every day counts and she wanted her kids to have more siblings and bigger support system later in life. Without getting any results, she chose a surrogate via an agency and the couple’s dreams came true. The surrogate’s name is kept private for her safety but we know she is a married African-American graduate with two children of her own.
She gladly accepted to carry the famous baby because she watched the show and Kim’s struggle and was surprised how Kim was open about her problems and how determined she was to have another baby.
The couple is grateful to their surrogate for the greatest gift anyone can receive. The happy parents already have a four-year-old girl North and a two-year-old boy Saint. The children are happy to meet their baby sister weighing 7Ibs, 6oz.
The Baby Girl Chicago
On 19 January, Kim revealed the baby’s name on social media.
The newborn is named Chicago after Kanye’s hometown. The name is a tribute to the rapper’s mother Donda, who raised him herself after she divorced his father and moved to Chicago.
Kanye has already mentioned the city a lot in his music including the hit “Homecoming” from 2007. Kim explained that Chicago will be known as CHI, and explained the pronunciation of the shortened version as “shy”.
Chi is showered with the personalized gifts only days after she was born all documented on social media. Momager, Kris Jenner also flooded her latest grandchild with gifts including a whopping $10,000 pushchair.
This is Kris’s seventh grandchild with more to come in the following months from Khloe and Kylie.
