Val Kilmer recently reveals his ambition to become governor of his home state of New Mexico.
The 48-year-old actor said he would give up acting in order to make the position work.
“I’m approaching this as a worthy, serious endeavour,” he said. “I really love my state. I’d be very comfortable in my position as a representative for the people.”
However, he did also add: “I know that I’m not yet qualified for the job and I don’t want to be a train wreck.”
Other actors who took on new roles in political fields include the US President Ronald Reagan and current California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger.
