Kevin Hart and John Travolta will be acting in new comedic action “Die Hart” series aka “Action Scene”!
Quibi Hit?
The series will be brought by a new streaming service Quibi that launches in April.
Currently listed on the Georgia Film website, the pre-production began in Atlanta this January, and according to some sources on Monday cameras will officially start rolling.
Written by Tripper Clancy and Derek Kolstad and directed by Eric Appel, the new series, features Hart in the role as “a fictionalized version of himself who is tired of being a comedic sidekick.”
The Deadline describes the premise of the show as the following:
He gets his wish when a famous director offers him his dream – to be a leading man action star – but there’s a catch: Kevin must first train at the world’s greatest action star school, run by a lunatic (Travolta).
Pushed to his limits by this action school coach and a tough-minded rival student, Kevin must survive a series of hilarious, over-the-top action sequences and face his fears if he wants to achieve his dream and land the role of a lifetime. His dreams lead him to meeting a famous director, played by Travolta, who will hilariously teach him how to become an action star.
Doing it From the Hart
Even though he was in terrible car crash last year, Hart is currently enjoying a lot of success.
The most recent movie he played in was Jumanji: The Next Level, which has grossed over $750 million at the worldwide box office.
Moreover, he isn’t lacking upcoming projects, as he is reportedly casted as Scrooge in Paramount’s remake of Scrooged, the 1988 Bill Murray film.
John Travolta will be back on TV screens for the first time since his role as Robert Shapiro in “American Crime Story.”
