Brooklyn Nets athlete Kevin Durant tested positive for coronavirus aka COVID-19.
The star revealed him and the other three Brooklyn Nets players had tested positive for the infection.
Staying Optimistic
Durant shared his diagnosis with The Athletic’s Shams Charania.
Not long after, the journalist tweeted about the player’s condition.
“Durant says he is feeling fine: ‘Everyone be careful, take care of yourself and quarantine. We’re going to get through this.'”
Initially, in a press release, The Nets confirmed that there are four players have been affected by COVID-19. However, they’ve decided to keep the individuals’ names anonymous.
“Four Brooklyn Nets players have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. Of the four, one player is exhibiting symptoms while three are asymptomatic,” the statement said.
“All four players are presently isolated and under the care of team physicians.”
Taking Care of the Situation
As of the time of writing this article Durant had not directly addressed the news. However, the Brooklyn Nets assured the NBA community and fans they’re working diligently to test everyone who might’ve come into contact with any of the four players.
Furthermore, in the statement, it was said that: “All players and members of the Nets travel party are being asked to remain isolated.”
They’ll continue to closely monitor their health and maintain constant communication with team medical staff.
“The health of our players and staff is of the highest priority to the organization and the team is doing everything within its power to ensure that those affected receive the best care possible.”
As of today, seven NBA players in total have been infected with COVID-19. The first to test positive was Utah’s Rudy Gobert.
Some of the celebrities have contracted it, as well. Among the first stars that have gone public with their diagnoses was Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson.
Since then, a handful of other celebrities have revealed that they too have contracted the respiratory illness. These are Idris Elba, Olga Kurylenko and Game of Thrones’ Kristofer Hivju, among others.
We hope that all of them get healthy soon and that you, readers stay safe as well.
