In the past few weeks the war of words between The Wanted and One Direction has been getting a little personal, and the English singer songwriter Jake Bugg has been getting in on the act too claiming that 1D are “manufactured and talentless.” Well today the boys from 1D have all signed publishing deals that will make them even richer than they already are, and on top of that last night they attended a launch party for their very own perfume. Not sure Jake Bugg and The Wanted have their own lines on the shelves yet, so perhaps they should be a little careful in what they say in future!
A source close to 1D revealed their latest publishing deal to the Sun Newspaper yesterday evening. They said, “This is a real statement of intent from the band. They have absolutely no intention of being spoon-fed pop puppets. They want to write and they want to earn as individuals.”
Good for them, and they may as well make their money while they can because history tells us they will not be around for ever! Yesterday evening Harry, Zayn, Liam, Niall and Louis were in London at a launch party for their new “Our Moment” perfume, something else that is sure to rake in the money over the next few years.
Harry and Niall took to Twitter to announce their new perfume. Harry said, “The 1D fragrance is called (drumroll)… Our Moment! And it smells like a summer’s day.” Niall followed up by tweeting, “I’ve tested it on my family and they love it — and we can’t wait to show it to our fans across the world.”
So a new publishing deal signed and a new perfume being released, all in the space of 24 hours! It certainly is 1D’s moment right now and people like The Wanted and Jake Bugg come across a little jealous and envious it seems of other people’s success!
