Katie Holmes has finally had enough of the tabloids printing lies. Star Magazine published a cover story that insinuated Holmes is a drug addict. Katie is said to be furious, so much so that she has filed a libel lawsuit seeking $50 million in damages. In a statement to PopEater Katie said;
“Of all the fabricated stories that continue to be published about me, this instance is beyond the pale. The publisher knew this outrageous story was false and printed it anyway to sell magazines.”
The magazine in question featured a picture of Katie on the cover looking tired and upset and the following tagline read;
“Addiction Nightmare: Katie Drug Shocker! The real reason she can’t leave Tom.”
The article makes a lot of insinuations but whilst it doesn’t directly say she uses drugs in the article it refers to her using an “e-meter” during Scientology sessions. It will be interesting to see how this story will play out in the courts.
