Famous songwriter Kara DioGuardi will join the television hit show “American Idol” as a fourth judge, according to FOX.

DioGuardi will sit alongside the almost always cruel Simon Cowell, the beautiful Paula Abdul and the talented Randy Jackson at the judges’ table throughout the eighth season of the show, which begins in January.

So who is Kara DioGuardi? Well, even though you might never have heard of her, you have most likely listened to many of her songs since they have been recorded by artist such as Celine Dion, Kelly Clarkson (American Idol winner), Pink, Hilary Duff, Carrie Underwood (American Idol winner), Enrique Iglesias, Marc Anthony, Avril Lavigne, The Jonas Brothers, Faith Hill, Santana, Christina Aguilera, and many many others.

We think an additional judge could be great for the show, but with four judges, WHO will have the final say? Our guess is Mr. Cowell.
