I think that Kayne West is too “cool” to be the next Elvis Presley. He doesn’t have what it takes.

“Its a compliment from Mr. West that he chose a legend like Elvis Presley to aspire to. Its musical icons and performers like Elvis Presley that opened the doors and allowed performers like Kanye West to be where they are today. Its not just being able to sell records that makes you an icon. Its your talent, showmanship, stage presence, charisma, humanitarian efforts and your ability to stay humble through it all that makes you an icon.

“What Elvis accomplished for himself and for music as a whole can never be duplicated. His impact on the music industry and how people listen to music is unprecedented. Elvis connected Black music to white listeners and opened the flood gates for numerous other artists music and talent to be more accepted which turned local and regional performers into Worldwide sensations.

“Elvis’ impact on popular music and culture can never be redone. Since his emergence onto the music scene over 50 years ago, just about everything has been done or tried, with Elvis blazing the path. Even though Mr. West has a fantastic idea of what he aspires to become, he nor any other performer, past, present or future will ever accomplish Presley’s unparalleled career. You can’t change past history and Elvis Presley stands alone.

“With all do respect to Mr. West, Elvis Presley is not called ‘The King of Rock ‘n’ Roll’ for nothing.
