At the weekend some of the best known popstars in the world were in London performing at the Wireless Festival, and while the likes of Jay-Z was staying at a private residence in the area and Rihanna was heading back to a posh Park Lane hotel one headed straight for the low cost option of a Premier Inn, and that person was Justin Timberlake.
Timberlake was headlining the Wireless Festival with Jay-Z on Sunday evening, but instead of spending thousands of pounds to stay at one of London’s top hotels like The Ritz or The Savoy he and his entourage opted for the local £95 a night Premier Inn in Stratford East London.
A source close to Timberlake confirmed that he had stayed at the more basic Premier Inn as they told the Sun Newspaper the following. They said, “”It’s great, it’s right on site. We’re having a chilled out get together with the guys after the gig. Beer, cider, burgers and chips, no frills. Justin doesn’t like too much fuss and we’re leaving early to go back to the US anyway.”
Perhaps Timberlake has set a precedent and others may follow his lead, but popstars, celebrities and sportstars regularly stay in the worlds top hotels when they travel the globe, mainly because money is no object to them and they like the luxuries that are on offer so it is more than likely just a one off.
