Wednesday, October 22nd, 2008

When the jury in the Britney Spears’ driving-without-a-license case deadlocked 10-2 in favor of acquittal yesterday, LA Superior Court Judge James Steele had to declare a mistrial, Fox News reports.
And after the prosecutors decided not to request a retrial, the whole case was dismissed, according to Usmagazine.com
The pop star was charged with not having a valid California driver’s license after she hit a parked car and then left the scene in August last year.
Spears did not appear in court herself. If convicted, she would have been facing up to six months behind bars and a $1,000 fine.
