British singer Joss Stone was the target of an alleged murder plot, two men are now being held as suspects. The two men were initially arrested for possession of offensive weapons after neighbors reported their suspicious behavior. They were seen driving slowly around the village where Joss Stone lives.
After police questioned the pair the charges against them were upgraded to conspiracy to rob and murder the singer. Not only did police find weapons, swords, rope and a body bag, they also found maps and aerial views of Stone’s property. The identity of the two men has not been revealed but they are reported to be 30 and 33 years of age.
Stone released a statement saying;
“I’d like to thank everyone for their concern, but I’m absolutely fine and getting on with life as normal while the police continue with their enquiries.”
It is likely that Stone was the target of such a plot due to her wealth. Last month she was placed on the Sunday Times Rich List as the fifth wealthiest British and Irish pop star aged under 30, with a fortune of about £9m.
