John Travolta spent the day telling court officials about the moments before his son’s death as he testified at the trial of two people accused of trying to extort moneyfrom him according to the The AP.
The actor told the court in Nassau, Bahamas that he and wife Kelly Preston were woken at around 10.15am by a nanny after son Jett, 16, suffered a seizure in their holiday home’s bathroom.
Travolta, who performed CPR o said: “I ran downstairs with my wife to help my son. I saw him on the bathroom floor. Jeff Kathrein, his other nanny, and a woman from Old Bahama Bay were doing CPR.
“Jeff Kathrein was doing compression and I was doing breathing.”
The star: “He was autistic. He suffered from a seizure disorder.”
Travolta then said that his son suffered seizures every five to ten days, and that they would last 45 seconds to a minute.
Paramedic Tarino Lightbourne and his attorney, former Bahamas Sen. Pleasant Bridgewater, have been accused of trying to extort $25m (£15.2m) from Travolta following the tragedy.
On Monday, the prosecutors alleged that the defendants threatened to release a document, signed by Travolta, that would have removed the emergency services’ liability for not transporting Jett to the hospital.
However, a police officer later testified that the actor had signed the paper because he originally wanted Jett to be taken to an airport instead of the hospital.
