The “Lover, Lover” singer, 32, performed at the Heart Strings for Hope benefit in Chattanooga, Tenn. where he and other stars raised $65,000 for charity on Tuesday night. Lee Brice, another country singer, and some of Niemanns’ family and professionals were traveling together on the tour bus.
Song writer Jon Stone was on the bus when Lee and Jon noticed a smell of something burning. Niemann thought it was the heater kicking on. It was soon determined that the bus was indeed on fire. The fire progressed quickly from the back of the bus and everyone made it out. Niemann took a photo of the buss in full flame, just thankful for his buddies who pointed out the unusual smell.
According to People Magazine Niemann said “We could see the fire moving up from the back corner of the bus, under the bus, and we were backing up, then the windshield blew out with a piece of blind stuck to it,” he says of those scary moments. “All the pressure built up and blew it out.”
Guess Lee, Niemann and crew brought the bonfire to Tennessee, in a whole new way.
