Ben Affleck’s and Jennifer Garner announcement of divorce may have sounded cordial to many, but those who knew the whole story say their unification was everything but. Numerous sources claim that the couple’s 10-year matrimony (they announced their split-up on June 30) was torpedoed by Affleck’s gambling, partying, and, yes, unsuitable activities with other women.
One of the friends claims, that within the last 12 months, Garner told her friends that her husband had “admitted to cheating” with a gorgeous woman. As she was so distraught Garner booted the two-timing Oscar winning out of their $17.5 million home in L.A.’s Pacific Palisades, but ultimately decided to forgive and forget his short coming, says the friend. In the meantime, a friend that is close to Affleck insists that he did not cheat on his wife. Affleck and Garner may be the only ones who know the facts of this situation, but at least one thing seems definite: Garner’s faith had been irreversibly wrecked.
Undeniably, insiders state that there was an abundance of distrust during their decade-long marriage. It has been stated that “She tried to depart the marriage on a few occasions, but he would plead for her to stay.”
Each time the Jen considered leaving, she would think of the three children Samuel, 3, Seraphina, 6, and Violet, 9. “She constantly fought against the urge that she had to wash her hands with the situation and walk away,” says one source. “The couple has been on the verge of breaking up on numerous occasions many times before, but it’s Garner’s worst nightmare for their children. Her principal aspiration has always been to keep her family as one.”
One of Affleck’s friend’s states that he is besieged with the separation as well: “This is just as tough on him and complicated for him. Any divorce is hard on everyone. His mom and close friends are there for him to lean on.”
