The casting of characters for Fox’s upcoming production of X-Men First Class is still continuing to wow audience up to now. The latest addition to the cast of mutants: January Jones. Despite of earlier reports that actress Alice Eve has bagged the role, the Mad Men star has already officially signed for the role of Emma Frost yesterday. X-men First Class will be directed by Matthew Vaughn who was also the director of the film Kick-Ass.
According to EW.com, the movie will revolve around the story of two young mutants who are Charles Xavier (to be played by James McAvoy) and Erik Lehnsherr (to be portrayed by Michael Fassbender). Lehnsherr is bound to be the former’s popular arch nemesis, Magneto later on.
Jones, who is best known for her portrayal of Betty Draper in Mad Men, will play the role of the White Queen who possesses telepathic powers in the movie. In the earlier production of X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the younger version of Frost made a brief appearance in the movie with Tahyna Tozzi playing the character. Other signed cast members are Zoe Kravitz, for the role of Angel, Oliver Platt as the Man in Black, and Jason Flemyng as Azazel.
The film’s shooting will start later this month and the release date is set on June 3, 2011.
