Jake Gyllenhaal was with Michael Pena his costar in the upcoming movie “End of Watch” when they ended up being on the scene of a gang shooting. They were researching for their roles when the drama became all too real as they rode along with an LAPD unit last night to the scene of a shooting in South L.A.
Sgt. Angela McGee stated that a gang member shot a rival, who was hospitalized with a grazing bullet wounds above his lip and on an arm. As Gyllenhaal and Pena were on patrol with Los Angeles police officers overnight they also arrived at the scene explained McGee.
According to reports the shooting actually happened at an anti-gang event called Summer Night Lights in South Los Angeles.
“End of Watch” is written and directed by David Ayres, he wrote Training Day which starred Denzel Washington. “End of Watch” is a drama that focuses on the partnership and friendship of two police officers.
