Toxicology test results reveal that Illegal drugs were not in her system when Amy Winehouse died last month. But the results do show that “alcohol was present” in her body but it hasn’t yet been determined if it actually contributed to her death. Amy Winehouse died on the 23rd July, she was only 27 years old.
Her family released a statement thru their spokesman, Chris Goodman;
“Toxicology results returned to the Winehouse family by authorities have confirmed that there were no illegal substances in Amy’s system at the time of her death.”
Since Amy’s death her family has continued to insist that Winehouse had beaten her drug dependence, contrary to speculation in the press that she hadn’t. Her actual cause of death is yet to be determined and as yet there has been no mention if Amy had any legal drugs in her system. An inquest into her death will begin October 26.
Amy’s family vowed to set up a foundation in the singer’s name to help people struggling with addiction.
