The former pro wrestler who is known as Hulk Hogan has indeed sued Gawker again. He is ultimately claiming that this gossip website has knowingly leaked court records that are sealed court documents which included a transcript that quoted Hogan making racist remarks.
Hogan’s latest lawsuit comes right after winning $140 million against Gawker after they posted a video of Hogan having sex with Hogan’s best friend wife. This three week trial was a striking inside peek at the business of celebrity gossip as well as a debate over what is considered newsworthiness versus what is to be considered celebrity privacy.
Gawker at this point denies that it leaked any sealed transcripts to the National Enquirer. Stating in this transcript, Hogan who is a white male, makes numerous racist comments about his daughter’s ex-boyfriend, who is black. Once the National Enquirer published this story with the transcript, the WWE cut off its very long ties with this famous wrestler.
This law suit which is taking place in Pinellas County Court also accuses a talent agent, a radio company, two disc jockeys, as well as a lawyer of conspiring to send media outlets the sex tape which will indeed cause Hogan emotional distress as well as economic harm.
This court filing is the latest chapter in a very long saga for the wrestler, Gawker as well as others.
Hogan’s first encounter with Gawker was when he first sued them after they posted a 2007 video of Hogan having sex with his best friend wife Heather Clem. Hogan stated that he did not know that he was being recorded by Bubba the Love Sponge Clem, who is a local DJ. During this trial Hogan sorrowfully described how Clem ultimately betrayed his trust.
