Actress Heather Locklear, who played Amanda on the Aaron Spelling’s hit television show Melrose Place, is no longer in negotiations to join the CW’s new version of the show, PerezHilton.com reports.
According to one source the site talked to, the 47-year-old actress was basically asking for too much money. “In these tough economic times, the network simply wouldn’t – or couldn’t – pay Heather the kind of money she thought she deserved. She wanted at least $100k per episode, which is what she could have commanded in pre-recession days, and the CW would only pay half that…or less,” the source is quoted as saying.
The source also claims that Locklear, who was mainly going to be used to attract old fans to the show, was looking for a “meatier role”.
