Chicago police investigating the Hudson family murders have discovered a gun close to where the body of seven-year-old Julian King was found.
Jennifer Hudson’s young nephew, who she had previously offered a reward for, was found shot dead in an abandoned Chevy Suburban on Monday.
The discovery came after police confirmed Hudson’s mother and brother had been found by a cousin, dead at their nearby family home. Darnell Donerson, 57, and Jason Hudson, 29, mother and brother of the famed actress, had sustained fatal gun shot wounds.
The Chicago Sun-Times reports that the gun was found yesterday afternoon while undertaking a full search of the area near the abandoned vehicle.
Chicago Police Department Chief Nick Roti said the weapon and other evidence have been turned over to the Illinois State Police crime lab.
William Balfour, King’s stepfather and Julia’s estranged husband, is being held on an alleged parole violation, and is considered by many to be the main suspect, however no one has been charged as of yet in the deaths.
