On the wierd side of the political news, In Omaha Nebraska, a judge has ruled the State Senator Ernie Chambers can’t sue God because God… has no address, as reported by the UK’s Digital Spy.
The Nebraska judge wrote in his decision on the case: “There can never be service effectuated on the named defendant.”
The suit was opened by Nebraska’s state senator Ernie Chambers, who said he might appeal against the ruling.
He was looking for a permanent injunction to prevent God from causing the “widespread death, destruction and terrorisation of millions upon millions of the Earth’s inhabitants”, reports the New York Daily News.
According to the Daily News, the openly atheist Chambers targeted the Lord to illustrate “every lawsuit must be allowed to be filed” following attempts by Nebraska Legislature to limit “frivolous lawsuits”. Senator Chambers is well known in the US as being Nebraska’s only black legislator, and for being a bit on the.. shall we say.. unique side. Openly Atheistic in an area known for its conservative bible thumping nature, Chambers has made a few enemies along the way.
Nebraska, home to the only unicameral Congress in the United States, is also home to Chambers, who is the blue jeans among the suit coats in Congress.
