On June 17th, when Cali struck down all objections to gay marriage, George Takei and his intended were there to reap the benefits of the legal battle and score a marriage license that was good for 90 days.
He was, at the time quoted as saying that it was a ” glorious California morning to make history.”
Takei who is now 71, and his partner, 54 year old Brad Altman have spent the last twenty one years together.
Says a lot about commitment doesn’ t it, when held up against those thirty second Hollyweed marriages.
They’ve had their own marriage in the works for the past 60 odd days and the rumor is that the couple will take the plunge on September 14th of this year.
His happiness was apparent upon gaining the marriage license when he told press and supporters :
“It’s going to be the only day like this in our lives, and it is the only day like this in the history of America.”
