George Clooney and Italian model Elisabetta Canalis have confirmed their split after two years together. They released a joint statement confirming the news;
“We are not together anymore. It’s very difficult and very personal and we hope everyone can respect our privacy.”
This news will be joy to the ears of many hopeful women but Clooney has always been fairly open about his lack of desire to marry again. He has often been quoted discussing this in the media, in January this year George appeared on Piers Morgan Tonight and when he was questioned over his views on marriage his response was;
“I was married, so I gave it a shot,” he said. “That ought to have proven how good I was at it.”
But then in the June issue of Italian magazine Chi, Canalis said in an interview:
“I am very happy at the moment – thanks to my man and my fairytale is continuing,” Canalis went on to say “We are a couple that never gets bored.”
Their feelings have clearly changed drastically since that recent statement.
