Gene Hackman, 78, has decided to retire from acting. According to contactmusic.com, the famous actor says that he has gotten too old for really fun roles and since he can’t bring himself to just play “grandfathers” he has decided to throw in the towel.
Hackman says, “I guess you could call it retired. I haven’t worked for four years now. And I don’t miss the business… At my age, they would have me playing grandfathers and great grandfathers. That’s not a heck of a lot of fun.”
So how does the actor spend his days? Well, according to reports he is writing historical fiction novels. And since almost everything he touches turns to gold, we guess that we will see his books among the Best Sellers soon…
