Radio 1 DJ Fearne Cotton has announced her engagement to boyfriend Jesse Wood, and as you would expect these days the announcement was made via social media as Fearne took to Twitter to announce the news.
Cotton, 32, first met Wood, 37, in 2011 and earlier this year she gave birth to the couples first child Rex. The news may have come as a surprise to many as earlier in the year she admitted the couple had no plans to marry, She said, “I’d love to get married and I’m sure Jesse would too, but we don’t have any plans yet. We’re so hectic with a baby and we’re both working. I think it’s important to feel like a family unit though.”
Well the couple must feel like a family unit now as Fearne announced news of their engagement yesterday evening. On her Twitter account she wrote, “I’m over the moon to tell you that on Sunday Jesse proposed and I happened to say Yes.”
Already Fearne’s Twitter page has been inundated with messages of congratulations from her army of followers. Jellybugs wrote, “sooooo thrilled for you both, perfect for each other. Lovely little family 🙂 xxx” while Nailedlt UK wrote, “Aww the gorg @Fearnecotton is now engaged!!! And just before Christmas how cute!
Everyone at Hot Gossip would like to add their congratulations to the happy couple on their wonderful news, but we can’t help thinking how cool it would have been to announce the news on Fearne’s Radio 1 show later today.
