Ed Sheeran is Taking a Break from Music

Ed Sheeran has announced he will be going on a break from work and social media.

Taking a Breather

The chart-topping singer said that though his Divide era and tour changed his life for the better, now it’s time “to go out and see more of the world.”

Sheeran said things had been “a bit non stop since 2007” and that he would “take a breather” and spend some time on travelling, writing and reading.

He also said that in the meantime he would be staying away from all his social media.

The pop star thanked his family, friends and fans, promising them that he would return with new music when the time is right and when he had “lived a little more to actually have something to write about.”

The announcement follows a video for his Ella Mai collaboration “Put It All On Me”, in which he is seen dancing in a kitchen with his wife Cherry Seaborn.

Artist of the Decade

The “Shape of You” superstar ended the year with being crowned as artist of the decade by the Official Charts Company for being the most successful performer in the UK album and singles charts of the 2010s

Earlier this year, Sheeran’s manager said that they are aware of singer’s potential risk of “overkill”.

“We are very conscious of too much Ed Sheeran,” Stuart Camp told BBC Music Introducing’s Does My Music Suck? podcast.

The 28 year old singer previously went on a hiatus from social media in 2015, saying he was “seeing the world through a screen and not my eyes”.

He returned the following year, having used his break with new experiences and seeing everything he has missed.

Everyone should take some time to take care of themselves. We are sure that this would help Ed Sheeran come back with an even better music in the future.
