Guess it depends on who you are maybe? Drunken driving in the United States has hit a record high, with stars such as Lori Petty receiving probation for their “misdemeanors” even when they involve hitting someone with their car.. Why does that sound just a touch much to us all?
Lori Petty will serve five years probation for a misdemeanor drunken driving charge.
The actress issued a statement apologizing and vowed that it will be her last arrest on the charge.
Petty was arrested May 30 after a skateboarder was hit with a car in the Venice Beach area, authorities said.
“I sincerely apologize for driving after drinking alcohol,” Petty said in a written statement.
(Petty did say she was terribly sorry for drinking and it will never ever ever happen again.. how utterly nice for her.. we say that probation isn’t quite enough for endangering someones life.. Do celebrities deserve preferential treatment. When they are booked on Felony DUI and walk away with a misdemeanor conviction is it quite fair, the message that it sends to the youth of today that its okay to”ALLEGEDLY” nearly kill people and buy your way out with a good lawyer? What do you think?
