DMX (real name: Earl Simmons) reached a plea deal on multiple drug possession, theft and animal cruelty charges yesterday, My Fox New York reports.
The troubled rapper reportedly pleaded guilty to one count of animal cruelty, one count of theft, and one count each of possession of marijuana and a narcotic drug.
As part of a plea agreement, all additional charges against him were dropped.
According to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, DMX is expected to receive a minimum of 90 days in jail. But if he violates his probation, which clearly states that he is NOT allowed to own animals or firearms, he could end up behind bars for more than 10 years.
The sentencing hearing is set for Jan. 30, 2009.
