Johnny Depp apparently thinks that the next Pirates Of The Caribbean movie may be in trouble.
The actor was with with former Disney chairman Dick Cook at the D23 Expo earlier this month to announce the fourth installment. Cook was fired from Disney last week after 29 years at the company.
“There’s a fissure, a crack in my enthusiasm at the moment… It was all born in that office,” Depp told the Los Angeles Times, referring to a verbal agreement he made with Cook about the new Pirates film.
Depp seemed to be suggesting that he had accepted an offer to return for a fourth movie, which currently has no script or director, because of his friendship with Cook.
“He said, ‘We’re thinking about doing this Pirates Of The Caribbean movie’,” Depp added. “I said I was in. This was before there was a script or anything.”
Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, which has Captain Jack Sparrow search for the Fountain of Youth, and is scheduled to be released in 2011.

It’s good to see that Depp has loyalty to his friends. That can be a rare virtue these days.
