Johnny Depp is apparently defending the aging Roman Polanski.
Polanski must return to the US to face sentencing in his 1977 sex case where he pleaded guilty to unlawful sexual intercourse with a 13-year-old girl. He is currently in Switzerland under house arrest.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star, who worked with the director in the 1999 film The Ninth Gate, has said that he believes that the circumstances surrounding Polanski’s arrest are suspicious.
Speaking to the Independent, the 46-year-old said: “Why now? Obviously there is something going on somewhere. Somebody has made a deal with someone. Maybe there was a little money involved, but why now?”
He does make perfectly good sense with the question. After all these years, Polanski is hardy a threat so who’s palm was crossed to get things to this pass?
