Saturday, April 4th, 2009

Hollywood star Denzel Washington took some time off from filming his upcoming post-apocalyptic western “The Book of Eli” in New Mexico, to save a Boys & Girls Club in Roswell, WENN.com reports.
The 54-year-old actor reportedly discovered that the club was being forced to close down due to financial problems and gave a $50,000 donation to the organization.
He also challenged the citizens of Roswell to match his donation, which has already resulted in donations from both community groups and private donors.
