“Californication” star David Duchovny has dropped the $1 million lawsuit he filed against the British tabloid Daily Mail, E! Online reports.
Duchovny sued the rag because of a story they printed, which claimed that the actor had an extramarital affair with a tennis instructor. But after the tabloid printed both an apology and a retraction, stating that the story was inaccurate and that the tennis instructor and Mr. Duchovny are only friends who used to play tennis together, the actor decided to drop the lawsuit.
Duchonvny and his wife, actress Tea Leoni, separated earlier this year. They married in 1997 and have two children together.
