The Austrian woman accused of stalking 53-year-old “CSI: Miami” star David Caruso was finally arrested in Mexico on Thursday, E! Online reports.
Austrian prosecutors say the woman, identified as Heidimarie Schnitzer, sent Caruso more than 100 letters, pursued him for an autograph and then sent him death threats when he refused to give her one.
The 40-something woman was supposed to stand trial in Innsbruck for both stalking and threatening to kill the famous actor, but when she never showed up for court a warrant was issued for her arrest, the Associated Press reports.
Schnitzer was tracked down by authorities in Tijuana, Mexico, Thursday night, according to reports from Mexican media. Police say that they arrested the alleged stalker with the help of a blog called “The Stalker Chronicles”, which was dedicated to the woman’s capture.
Schnitzer has now been handed over to immigrations officials and is expected to be deported back to her home country for trail, according to online reports.
