David Beckham is on the headlines again but not because of his exceptional ball-kicking skills. The legendary soccer player is now involved in a court drama involving him and In Touch Weekly magazine. Bauer Publishing Co., the main company of the magazine, has filed a counter lawsuit against the star player in answer to his case against the magazine that published an article about him having an affair with a hooker.
In the court documents, the soccer star was referred to as a ‘serial philanderer’. In Touch Weekly was supposed to have outlined the sequence of events of how they found out about Beckham’s extramarital affair with high-paid hooker Irma Nici. The magazine claimed to have done a three hour interview with Nici and deduced the affair of Bekcham with the help of additional information from other reliable sources.
Beckham, naturally, has denied the affair and filed a lawsuit against the magazine by saying that news about him cheating on his wife Victoria is not a matter that should have been published and exposed to the interest of the public.
On the other hand, lawyers of the publication company countered the latter claim of the soccer star by saying that Beckham has no right of telling that his private life is not of public interest when he’s even selling photos of his marriage and his kids to magazines for more than a million pounds.
A hearing on the lawsuit will be conducted on Feb 14.
