Hollywood star Daryl Hannah has joined anti-whaling activists in Brisbane and tomorrow she will be sailing for the Southern Ocean as part of a campaign to stop Japanese whalers from slaughtering the amazing animals, Yahoo! News reports.
Hannah will be part of the militant Sea Shepherd Conservation Society’s annual campaign to find and obstruct the whaling ships – a quite dangerous undertaking considering the rumor that a Japanese gunboat is being sent to protect the whalers.
“It is surprising and shocking to me that governments are not doing this work – that it is up to individuals and non-government organizations to uphold international law and protect endangered species,” Hannah is quoted as saying by the AAP news agency.
Good Luck, Daryl!
