You remember that moment when Taystee (Danielle Brooks) broke everyone’s heart in the hit series Orange is the New Black in the fourth season. Yes, we are talking about that moment. Yes, here it is a huge spoiler alert!
Danielle Brooks who plays the character of Taystee Jefferson on the Netflix Hit series, was indeed pulling double duty as she was shooting this new season. She was working very hard as Danielle was living her prison life on screen all the while working on The Color Purple a Broadway stage production. She followed that spectacular moment when Taystee Jefferson (Danielle Brooks) found herself crumbling onto the floor after she discovered that her dearest friend Poussey who is played by the actress Samira Wiley dead on the ground, by going right back to work on the Broadway production of The Color Purple.
Do not be mistaken this was not an easy moment for Danielle to just roll of her back. Danielle Brooks and Samira Wiley go way back to the year 2007, this is when Samira help Danielle move into her new dorm room at Julliard. Ever since that day these two stayed very close.
Danielle stated that just was not sure if she would have given the very same performance if it was anyone else that particular day other than Samira playing the part of Poussey due the fact that they have been really close friends for such a long time.
It has been quite an adventure for Danieele from season one up till now. She started out being the light of the prison who actually liked being there due to the fact that she a forever family, and now she has lost both Vee as well as Poussey and there was no justice for Poussey’s death, Taystee is ready for War.
