Police have dropped charges against a man in Sydney who allegedly drove around a fake Popemobile (impersonating the popes CAR is criminal?)
Ian Bryce was orderd to take the car off the road and was charged with distracting motorists , when he drove around a fake popemobile in a protest against the visit of the pope last year, ABC News reports.
He claimed that a barrister and solicitor from the NSW Council for Civil Liberties had persuaded the authorities to drop the case against him.
Bryce said: “The purpose of the Popemobile was to draw the media attention and the public’s attention to the false claims and the very bad actions of the Pope and the Church.
“It was (a protest) against the Pope’s claims to have supernatural authority, and all the harm he’s doing in the world in banning condoms and trying to avoid family planning.”
He added: “And now he’s said that gays are an equal threat to mankind as climate change, and I can’t for the life of me see what harm they’re doing anyone.” WOW.. Wonder if Perez is up for castigating the pope??
