Celebrities are Now Speaking Out About the Riots

Carmelo Anthony made his statement on the riots in Baltimore.

As the riots in Baltimore wind down, but don’t seem to seize at all; the celebrities in the world are speaking out about the violence that is going on. Ever since the funeral of a 25 year old that passed away because of injuries that were sustained by fighting with police officers, the city of Baltimore is now rioting in this memory. While this might be an ideal way for them to show their support and love for a man that they feel was unjustly charged, the celebrities are now letting us know their thoughts and feelings regarding the incident.

The show “Soul Food’s” star, Nicole Ari Parker stated that it is not just her hometown but her neighborhood that is part of this chaos.

Seems as though the place is just destroying itself. Where are these people going to live and work once all is said and done? That is our question. No one knows, all they know is that the National Guard and local police force are now working to restore the peace within the neighborhoods that broke out and started the riot to happen in the first place.

Carmelo Anthony also had something to say, since this is also his hometown, “Let’s build our city up not tear it down,” he wrote on Instagram. “Although, we want justice, let’s look at the real issues at hand. For example, When was the last school built in Baltimore? That’s just one example. I know my community is fed up. I’m all about fighting for what we believe in. The anger, the resentment, the neglect that our community feels right now, will not change over night. Continue, fighting for what you believe in. But remember, it takes no time to destroy something. But, it can take forever to build it back up. Peace7.”

This is just what they are doing, and what they continue to do when it comes to putting the neighborhood down. While it is not everyone that lives there, many natives feel that this is something that they would rather not take part in. While, the story has some controversy on the young man that died, it doesn’t mean ruin the place that you live in and are a part of. This is just what these people are doing, and soon, it will have to be built back up, making times even harder on those that work and live in the area.
