Kim Cattrall recently got the not so great news that her maternal grandfather was a bigamist.

Catrall, star of Sex and the City was born in Liverpool, England. She found out some remarkable details about her background during her appearance on Who Do You Think You Are?.

Reportedly she learned that her grandfather George Baugh left his family when her mother was 8-years-old and that he was still married to her grandmother when he wed another woman, E! reported.

She said: “The most difficult thing was telling my mother and her sisters the truth of what became of their father. I felt I was ruining their last fantastic hope of what became of him. He was unremarkable except in his selfishness.”
