Jolie Apparently Not an Obama Fan–Makes Some Pointed Comments

Angelina Jolie gave the Obama adminisration a fairly stern talking to in an OpEd published Thursday at Newsweek.com.

In “Justice Delayed is Not Justice Denied,” the actress and U.N. goodwill ambassador wote very passionatly about the situation in the Darfur region of Sudan, where “government supported militia have left 300,000 dead and 2.7 million people internally displaced.” She begs the question what will be done to make their lives better, other than the obvious assertion that they certainly can’t get worse.

In a recent issue of Us Weekly, a source was quoted as saying to Us that Jolie and boyfriend Pitt get in “arguments all the time” about President Obama. “She thinks Obama is all smoke and mirrors.”

Obama Wins Nobel Prize

President Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize today. He won, so its said, in part for what the award’s organizers said was a “more constructive role in meeting the great climatic challenges the world is confronting.”
The decision to honor Obama just nine months into his first term caught even the White House off guard and Obama, in a speech commented,
“Well, this is not how I expected to wake up this morning,”.

Venezuela Loves Family Guy…NOT

Government officials in Venezuela have threatened TV networks with fines and penalties if they do not remove Family Guy from their schedules.

The region’s Justice Minister Tareck El Aissami claimed that the US animated show advocates drug use, Contactmusic reported. Well yes.. we can see where that might be problematic.

The government selected one episode of the  series which sees the characters champion the legalisation of marijuana. Authorities said yesterday that they would financially penalize network bosses who ignored the ban and didn’t remove the show from their networks.

Is it just us, thinking that … with guys like Hugo Chavez hanging around in the Venezuelan real world, don’t you think it might be better to ban them and leave Stewie and company alone?

Barack Obama Calls Kanye West a “Jackass”

President Barack Obama was reportedly overheard calling Kanye West a “jackass” for his interruption of Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech at MTV Video Music Awards.

The comment was allegedly made yesterday in an off-the-record segment during an interview with CNBC and the cat was let out of the bag by  Terry Moran, the co-host of ABC’s Nightline.

Writing a message on Twitter  that was since deletedMoran said: “Pres. Obama just called Kanye West a ‘jackass’ for his outburst at VMAs when Taylor Swift won. Now THAT’S presidential.”

An ABC spokesman later said: “In the process of reporting on remarks by President Obama that were made during a CNBC interview, ABC News employees prematurely tweeted a portion of those remarks that turned out to be from an off-the-record portion of the interview.

“This was done before our editorial process had been completed. That was wrong. We apologize to the White House and CNBC and are taking steps to ensure that it will not happen again.”

Personally, we’re proud of our president and we stand behind his remarks they SHOULD have been public. Obama was right. He was being a jackass.

Good Call Mister President!!

Thousands Protest Health Care Plan

In a move as strategic as it was transparent, the president’s rally in Minneapolis, held in one of the states which is the most healthy, with the most uninsured, the President  told the people that his door was always open, but also let them know what he didn’t want to hear and simultaneously”seeking to grab the megaphone from his opponents” according to MSNBC news, by his actions perhaps indicating he wasn’t there to listen,  maybe evenfelt the criticisms weren’t something he was obligated to address,  but to push the passage of his plan.

It had the feel of a political rally, reminscent of the presidential debates.

Obama stated “I intend to be president for a while and once this bill passes, I own it.” And if it doesn’t work, Obama said: “I’m the one who’s going to be held responsible. So I have every incentive to get this right.”

While the president was away
With Obama out of town, thousands of people marched Pennsylvania Avenue to the Capitol to protest Obama’s approach on health care and what they say is out-of-control federal spending. At the protest, people chanted “enough, enough” and “We the people” and carried signs that said “Obamacare makes me sick” and “I’m Not Your ATM.”While many reported that they were conservatives, it appears that not all were so. Conservatives and liberals alike have problems with the 500+ page health care plan that leaves the elderly in many cases, out in the cold for care.

Some of them were not conservatives and many of them weren’t impressed with the clauses in the Obamacare regarding the elderly and requirements for care that specifically leave the elderly and middle age out of the loop, dictating what is and is not going to be allotted to them.

Obama Minister Disses Oprah

30_wright_lg.jpgBarack Obama’s former pastor doesn’t Do Oprah apparently.. saying she’s only “an entertainer, not a politician” who doesn’t “care” about social policy and can’t help the poor at all. (Anyone but us think this man looks psychotic?)

His words are semi tough but does he have a point? Our humble opinion finds that the simple truth is, quite often its the politicians who don’t care and the entertainers and simple folks who do.

Checking out the healthcare bill, which seems quite over the top in requesting what amounts to suicide counseling  and less carefor people over a certain age, we’d have to say it might be Oprah who stands head and shoulders above those “caring politicians” in our world.

Since Oprah left his church some time back, rumor has it because of the incendiary and incredibly bigoted comments of this mentor to President Obama,  do you think it might be a case of sour grapes?
Check out his sermons and see for yourself why the Oprah may not be overly approving.
