Wrestling legend ‘Rowdy’ Roddy Piper was arrested for DUI in Los Angeles earlier today, according to reports that were filed onTMZ.

The 55-year-old WWE star, who worked during the same time span as Hulk Hogan, Mr T and Ric Flair , was stopped by police at 1am. He was allegedly given “sobriety tests” (which he apparently failed) before being booked.

His bail has reportedly been set at $5,000 (£3,055).

Piper, real name Roderick George Toombs, recently spoke about losing “friends” and “brothers” to drugs and alcohol in an interview with Slam! Wrestling.

He also talked about coming back to WWE following the success of his Wrestlemania 25 storyline with Chris Jericho.
His movie career, however was something of a wash.. with the one really memorable role being in “Hell Comes to Frogtown”. Not exactly Oscar material there…

Chris Brown is denying the claims that say he was banned from attending the Black Entertainment Awards (BET) on Sunday.

Found guilty last week of the assault on former girlfriend Rihanna, Brown says that he was never planning to appear at the music event.

The New York Daily News reported that Jay-Z had stepped in to voice his opposition. to Browns attendance.

“Jay is a big name in the BET community, and he was very vocal about his displeasure with Chris attending the ceremony. He didn’t want Chris anywhere near the awards so close to the court’s ruling,” a source told the newspaper.

However, a representative for Brown responded: “That’s not true - he was never confirmed to perform.”

The Oscar-winning composer and director behind the incredible “You Light Up My Life” has been charged with a few small crimes.. Its been alleged that he raped 11 women he lured to his apartment with the promise of a starring role in a movie, prosecutors said at his arraignment Tuesday.

The women read an online ad placed by the director, Joseph Brooks, applied for the audition “and thought this was their chance to become a big star,” prosecutor Lisa Friel said.

Instead, once the women were in Brooks’ Manhattan apartment, he plied them with wine and forcibly raped them or used threats and coercive behavior to make them have sex with him, prosecutors said.

The scrawny Brooks, 71, denied the accusations. Today he was arraigned on a 91-count indictment charging him with rape, criminal sexual act, sexual abuse, assault and other charges.If he is convicted he will face a very very lonnng prison stretch

In what police are describing as very suspicious circumstances the brother of famed actress Mia Farrow has been found dead in an art gallery late this evening.

The Times reported that Patrick Farrow, an acclaimed sculptor, was found by police responding to an emergency call  at his gallery.

The death of her older brother is yet another setback for Farrow, whose adopted daughter Lark Previn died after a long illness in December, just seven months after her nephew Jason Dene was killed in Iraq.

Police said an autopsy was planned to determine the cause of Patrick Farrow’s death. “The death is considered suspicious,” said Vermont State Police Lieutenant Timothy Oliver.

Attorneys in Miami today said that the beleaguered Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte’ Stallworth has agreed to plead guilty to DUI manslaughter charges. Stallworth will serve some jail time for the accident in which a pedestrian was killed. Police recently released the 911 tapes of the accident which are available for our viewing.

Prosecutors and Stallworth’s attorney confirmed to The Associated Press on Monday night that a deal has been struck. The 28-year-old Stallworth is expected to be in a Miami courtroom Tuesday(tomorrow) to enter the plea.
(Nice.. you take a life and get probation time and a “short” jail term… money folks.. changes everything doesn’t it?)

Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office spokeswoman Terry Chavez says the deal includes a short jail sentence and lengthy probation. She would not provide details.

Police said that Stallworth had a blood-alcohol level of .126 after the crash.Thats a far cry above Florida’s .08 limit to safely operate a vehicle. Police say that the victim, 59 year old Mario Reyes however was not in a crosswalk when he was killed.. oh that makes ALL the difference.

According to TMZ, Chris Brown’s lawyer went to the California appeals court asking to put Brown’s preliminary hearing on ice it just wasn’t a necessity according to those in the know, But TMZ also reports that ” the appeals court told him to pound sand.”

Mark Geragos wanted a hold on the case because of the leak of the photos and other material related to Rihanna..  Apparently its okay to slap the girl around but he doesn’t want the proof out there anywhere.

Needless to say, and thankfully, the trial judge shut him down. So the preliminary trial for Brown in the Rihanna beating case is still a happening thing for June 22.
