Voight Love McCain, Adores Palin, Less Vocal About Angelina

Jon Voight,  noted actor in his own right, as well as father of super starlet Angelina from the Brangelina couplet, himself brought some celebrity meat to the RNC, joining with fellow Republicans in support of McCain-Palin.
In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, he was quite flattering of McCain, called him an “amazing guy” and gave predictions that the Arizona senator would offer the country safety and prosperity.

He was equally as kind about Palin, calling her “beautiful choice” and elaborating on “the pure simplicity of her poise and experience.”

When asked by the StarTribune about his little girl, he was less effusive in his praise or comments, replying “Who knows which way she’ll vote,” . He did confirm that he has not yet met Jolie’s children.

Voight confirmed that he is working on a THIRD “National Treasure” movie.

Uh-Oh, Quentin is Taking Up Where Cruise Left Off.

From E News come reports that the script of one of the newest and most controversial soon- to- be- filmed World War 2 stories, “Inglorious Bastards” was leaked to the German media this week and it seems to have had the effect of pouring grease on a fire.

The script has drawn fire, or ire, from just about all of the German media, most of which are irate about the scenes that show Jewish American soldiers who are “scalping, Shooting or strangling” or otherwise killing off Nazi soldiers in a loud and grotesque military manner.

“All the German historians and critics who were left gasping for breath by Tom Cruise and his worthy attempts will be so shocked by Inglorious Bastards that they will savage it on the spot,” opines Tobias Kneibe, film editor of Germany’s Suddeutsche Zeitung newspaper.

The film purportedly stars such greats in the industry as Brad Pitt, Diane Kruger, Simon Pegg and Mike Myers.

Lily Allen Puts On Quite a Show.

Lily Allen thought it was quite chic apparently to dis the Rocket Man onstage of the GQ men awards, but she didn’t quite escape unscathed.
According to E News, after taking in more than her share of complimentary alcohol onstage last evening her behavior and good manners took a walk.

It is reported that Lily Allen slurred her words on stage, let out a few secrets such as the secret engagement of her brother Alfie and told  award recipient Tony Bennett, at age 82, that she’d “still f— him” despite his advanced age.

After Allen told the assembled crowd of showbiz legends that they had reached “a very special point in the evening,” Elton, the 61-year-old Rock and Roll Hall of Famer replied, “What, are you going to have another drink?”

Allen then retorted showing off her decorum onstage, “F— off, Elton, I’m 40 years younger than you, I have my whole life ahead of me.”

Her fellow master of ceremonies fired back vehemently, “I could still snort you under the table.”

On hand for the debacle was  chef Gordon Ramsay, Elle Macpherson, Steve Coogan, Mark Ronson, Orlando Bloom and Josh Brolin, and a host of others.
Wonder if Lily remembers?

Joan Rivers attacks Angelina Jolie

Joan Rivers, Angelina Jolie

Television personality Joan Rivers has done it again – attack another celebrity, that is!

This time she did it during an interview on GMTV, and her victim was none other than Hollywood megastar and Goodwill Ambassador Angelina Jolie, according to Extra.

“Well, I’ve worked with stupid actresses - I’ve worked with Angelina Jolie - she saw a sign that said ‘WET FLOOR’ one time, and she did!”, Rivers said.

But her bizarre outburst about Angelina Jolie did not end there. “I mean she’s attractive, but not a bright girl. Stunningly beautiful but stupid, she would have asked Stevie Wonder, ‘What’s your favorite color? ‘”, she said according to Entertainmentwise.com

Just a few months ago, Rivers was basically removed from the set of the British lunchtime talk show “Loose Women” after she called actor Russell Crowe a “f**king s**t” on live TV. You can check out that outburst here!

Obama handled that quite nicely

Like it or not, the man is a celebrity, and we’re going to be hearing a great deal from him and about it, completely aside from being the nominee for President.

With that in mind, of course the things he has to say are going to be notable, and sometimes picked to pieces,  however we think he handed this one just right.

From Fox News comes the quote from Obama, after being informed about the possibility of Palin being a grandmother to be.

… on 17-year-old Bristol Palin’s pregnancy, made public today. ‘I have heard some of the news on this and so let me be a clear as possible: I have said before and I will repeat again, I think people’s families are off limits, and people’s children are especially off limits. This shouldn’t be part of our politics,’ the Democrat said forcefully. ‘It has no relevance to Governor Palin’s performance as governor, or her potential performance as a VP. And so I would strongly urge people to back off these kinds of stories,’ he continued.

The Democratic blogs are a-buzzing this week with reports that attempt to smear Gov. Palin’s..commentary that her four-month-old son wasn’t really her son, that the pregnancy was pretend so that she could take over the son born to her daughter.

It was wise of Obama to lay this kind of commentary to rest and to leave the smear campaign to the hate mongers in his party, or either party, rather than to play up the issue… and lest we forget, Barack probably wants nothing to do with this kind of gossip, in consideration of the fact that his own mother was an unwed teenager.

We applaud Obama for not casting that stone.

Quote of the week

Alec Baldwin

According to New York Post’s Page Six, Alec Baldwin has talked to the New Yorker about his ex wife Kim Basinger, who he claims is still trying to destroy his relationship with their 12-year-old daughter, Ireland.

And this was reportedly one of the things that came out of his mouth:

“Think I’m walking stiffly?” (Baldwin asks journalist Ian Parker.) “Yeah, there’s a 120-pound actress on my back.”
