50 Cent awarded visitation with his son

50 Cent

Rapper 50 Cent and the mother of his son, Shaniqua Tompkins, confronted each other in court Monday. And 50 Cent won, according to Newsday.com.

The rapper was awarded visitation with his 11-year-old son, Marquise, every other weekend. The judge also issued an order of protection, demanding that 50 Cent stay away from the kid’s mother.

Just a few weeks ago, 50 Cent appeared in a Long Island court in order to overturn a restraining order taken out by his ex, so that he could spend time with his son.

Marquis’s mother took out the restraining order after accusing the rapper of being involved in the fire that burned her Long Island home to the ground.

J.K. Rowling Puts a Hex on Rip Off Harry Potter Book

J.K. Rowling, the writer behind the wizardly Harry Potter just put a serious dissappearing spell on the book :The Harry Potter Lexicon.
A Federal judge this morning put the final touch to the publication which had been planned, saying that the publication violates Rowlings rights as the creator.
The book was bases on a fan site, which is now also defunct.

U.S. District Judge Robert Patterson Jr. took no heed of the defenses argument that the planned Lexion was protected under “fair-use” doctrines of the copyright law.
Last fall J.K. and Warner Brother got together to sue the author, and his publisher, Steven Vander Ark and RDR Books, respectively, over what they had planned, a 400-page book, ($25). The Lexicon was put down by Rowling in a very emotional and whimpering way as, “wholesale theft of 17 years of my hard work” and “decimating” her livelihood. (Apparently by forcing her to take a breather from writing to put her attention on the legal battle)

Hmm.. so apparently several million isn’t enough to live on?

The judge had initially encouraged both sides of the battle to settle out of court, and had predicted that no matter what his ruling ended up to be, it would open the door for literally years of appeals since copyright law is quite vague in this area.

Britney Spears’ mom slams Sam Lutfi in her upcoming book

Britney Spears, Lynne Spears

Britney Spears’ mom Lynne uses her upcoming book “Through the Storm - A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World”, to criticize Britney’s former manager/lover (?) Sam Lutfi, saying he took advantage of her daughter, The Sun reports.

Lutfi was at the pop singer’s side during her mental breakdowns at the beginning of this year, and Lynne says that he took advantage of this situation. She also claims that Lutfi drugged her daughter by slipping her sedatives and antipsychotic pills.

In her book, Lynne describes how Lutfi worked his way into Britney’s life and then tried to cut her off from her family and friends. According to extracts from the book, which have already been published on thesun.co.uk, she writes:

“She [Britney] was sad, floundering, ripe for a predator to come along. Britney was open to this man who rode in on a white horse… Within a month of meeting, Sam was in complete control of her life. He appointed himself as her gate-keeper, and there was no one he wanted to keep the gate closed to more than Britney’s family.”
