Kanye West Assault Charges Dropped

Kanye West had assault charges against him dropped after he performed community service.

The rapper and manager Don Crowley were charged with vandalism, battery and grand theft following a scuffle with photographers at LAX airport in 2008.

The judge agreed to dismiss the case if the pair carried out community service.

TMZ reported that West’s lawyer has proof that he worked for 50 hours with the Red Cross.

Kym Marsh Reveals She Struggled to Pay Bills

Kym Marsh is standing up for those who can’t stand up for themselves. This remarkable young actress and singer, best known for her outstanding performances on Coronation Street, a UK long running soap that is much downloaded and sought after by United States fans (you can get it at Amazon now folks) is backing the many programs designed to help the poor in the UK and making people sit up and take note.

Kym Marsh speaking at the launch of the Home Heat Helpline for people on low incomes had this to say:

“I wanted to get involved because obviously having been a single parent I’ve lived on benefits,” she said. “A couple of members of my family have been in that situation as well.

“There were many times when I found it really difficult to pay my bills. I found it hard to heat my home and when you have two small children it’s really a worry.

“Had there been a helpline out there at the time when I was struggling, I probably would have been eligible for help. I could have been saved a lot of misery and upset and basically been able to keep ourselves warm.”

Marsh urged people to call the helpline to find out if they are eligible for support, adding: “We are a nation of people who like to save face and unfortunately that tends to mean that we end up struggling and going without and I know which I’d rather do.”

She also recent spoke out on behalf of the Live Earth’s ‘Run For Water’ events.

Bette Midler Makes Incredible Gesture

Bette Midler, performing at Ceasars Palace  in Vegas last night announced that she would have showgirls at the exits. Anyone how offered a donation  that would be collected by her girls would have that donation matched dollar for dollar by Ms Midler personally. The donations will be sent to Haiti to help defray the incredible suffering that is currently taking place there.

Ms Midler is not the first of the celebrities to make such a remarkable gesture, but her’s with the personal collection, was simply impressive to those of us in the audience. Midler is known for her charitable work, having founded the New York Restoration Project in 1995 . The New York Restoration Project is a non-profit organization whose goal is revitalizing neglected neighborhood parks in New York City. The parks in economically disadvantages areas include these: Highbridge Park, Fort Washington Park, and Fort Tryon Park in upper Manhattan and Roberto Clemente State Park and Bridge Park in the Bronx.

Keira Knightley has, according to reports, stripped it down to pose nude for a widely acclaimed artist.

The Pirates of the Caribbean actress, who has previously bared it all in order to film a bathing scene with Sienna Miller in the movie The Edge of Love, is now shedding the clothing for Mitch Griffiths.

A source told The Mail On Sunday: “It’s considered a great honour to be painted by Mitch. He is a highly respected nude painter and is painting a number of subjects for an exhibition next year. He is delighted Kaeira agreed to take part.”

Feral Camels Damaging Australia Towns

CamelAround 6,000 camels are rampaging through a remote Australian town wreaking havoc wherever they go..

The Northern Territory government has organized a mass killing of the creatures after claiming that the Docker River community is “under siege” by the animals, Sky News reported.

Local government minister Rob Knight said: “They’ve actually come right into the community smashing infrastructure, so it’s become a critical situation.

“There are health issues, there are camels being trampled, and dead carcasses in the community. They are smashing over water mains and intruding on the airstrip, causing problems with medical evacuations.”

Graham Taylor, the chief executive of local authority MacDonnell Shire, added: “It began four weeks ago with 25 or 30 camels, but every day more and more turned up looking for water.”
