In a bit of news from the past.. the Iraqi government today has announced they will sell the personal property of their own past celebrity, Saddam. Ocean Breeze, Hussseins yacht features swimming pools, an operating room , a helipad and an escape tunnel leading to a submarine.(( sound a touch paranoid to you??)

It is expected to bring in around 20 million, with brokers claiming the vessel’s history will  be “a good selling point”.
Iraq was granted ownership of the yacht, which was built in a Danish shipyard in 1981, following a legal dispute with a Jordanian company.

The yacht features such amazing decor as mahogany carvings, gold tap fittings and deep-pile carpets, reports the BBC.

Hussein never stayed on the yacht because of  political instability in Iraq. It has been moored in Saudi Arabia and the French port of Nice since it was built.

E! Online reports that actor Ryan Reynolds, 31, completed the New York City Marathon on Sunday in just under four hours. Reynolds finished 9,646th.

Reynolds ran the marathon as part of Team Fox (set up by actor Michael J. Fox to raise money for Parkinson’s disease) to honor his father who has been battling Parkinson’s for the last 15 years.

“I’m still standing. I’m very excited about that,” Reynolds reportedly told reporters after crossing the finish line.

Way to go, Ryan!!!

People Magazine reports that family and friends gathered Sunday to pay their respects to Jennifer Hudson’s slain mother, brother and nephew in a public memorial service near the family’s Chicago home.

Police found the bodies of Hudson’s mother, 57, and brother, 29, on Oct. 24, and her 7-year-old nephew’s three days later.

Jennifer’s brother-in-law, William Balfour, is still considered “a person of interest.”

Style icon Victoria Beckham has just become the spokeswoman for the new Emporio Armani fashion house lingerie line, according to Fox News.

She thereby joins her husband, British soccer player David Beckham, who was the star of a similar Emporio Armani underwear campaign just this past summer - You can check out his totally delicious Armani ads here!

Victoria will appear in the Spring/Summer 2009 ad campaign.

Yesterday, Britney Spears released the cover for her upcoming album, which will hit the stores on her birthday, December 2.

She also revealed that the next single will be the title track, “Circus,” produced by Dr. Luke and Benny Blanco.

Jessica Simpson’s new movie “Major Movie Star” was a hit in Russia, but will unfortunately (for Jessica) go directly to DVD in the U.S, according to Usmagazine.com.

Before the flick will be released on DVD, it will reportedly be renamed “Private Valentine: Blonde & Dangerous”.

The movie is all about a movie star (played by Jessica Simpson) who suddenly finds herself broke and humiliated in the public eye. To change her life, she enlists in the U.S. Army.
