U.S. swimmer Michael Phelps broke his own world record and won his first gold medal in the 400 m individual medley event at the Beijing Summer Olympics Sunday.

Funnyman Bernie Mac, 50, died early Saturday morning from complications due to pneumonia, his rep confirmed.

Bernie Mac was admitted to Chicago’s Northwestern Memorial hospital on August 1 to get treatment for his pneumonia, and he was expected to recover from it.

Former Magnum, P.I. star Tom Selleck, 61, is reportedly set to appear on “Dancing With The Stars” with celebs such as singer Tony Braxton and former ‘N Sync star Lance Bass.

Selleck has according to Starpulse.com been talked into doing the show by his former “Three Men and a Baby” co-star Steve Guttenberg, who appeared on the last season of the show.

The rumor has it that Mel Gibson and Danny Glover will star in a 5th Lethal Weapon flick, according to Contacmusic.com

Last year, director Richard Donner revealed that he was ready to make another movie - as long as Gibson wanted to star in it - and now it seems as though the movie will get made. A source recently told the Daily Star, “Lethal Weapon 5 is a go. Mel and Danny are back. The script is fabulous!”

Britney Spears’ rep has now denied the reports that she’ll be playing a killer lesbian stripper in one of Quentin Tarantino’s upcoming movies.

However, Brad Pitt has now joined the cast of Tarantino’s World War II film “Inglorious Bastards,” according to Hollywood Reporter.

“They’re going to push each other and really help make something special,” said the film’s producer, Lawrence Bender.

Pitt has signed on to play Lieutenant Aldo Raine, the leader of the Jewish resistance.
