Jennifer Lopez To Join American Idol?

Jenifer Lopez American IdolRumor has it that Jennifer Lopez will soon be the newest judge on American Idol. She is supposedly on the cusp of a deal.

Although Lopez is known to be a diva, by all accounts, the negotiations have gone smoothly. There have been no outrageous demands. The deal should be finalized within a weeks time.

American Idol has hope for Jennifer Lopez. Ratings for the show have steadily been decreasing.

With fan favorite, Simon Cowell gone and Ellen Degeneres quitting after just one year, American Idol desperately needs an infusion of star power. Lopez may be the woman to provide it.

As of now, whether or not Lopez joins the show is just conjecture. This was rumored to be the case months ago but nothing panned out. Looks like we’ll just have to hold tight and see what happens.

Teresa From ‘Housewives’ Playing Hardball With Bravo

Teresa From HousewivesTeresa, from the Housewives of New Jersey is asking the hit television franchise to either pay up or she’s out! For those of you who aren’t sure who Teresa is, she is the lady who famously flipped over the dinner table during an argument with her nemesis, Danielle.

She is also the New Jersey housewife who has been having some financial trouble since the downturned economy hurt her hubby’s business.

According to those in the “know,” Teresa and several other women in the cast want more money. They have decided not to begin the third season of the show unless their deals are upgraded.

Theresa wants Jersey Shore money, which is approximately $30,000 per episode. She also wants a portion of the merchandise sales. Theresa has threatened to walk if she doesn’t get her way. No word from Bravo.

I think that I’m ‘Team Teresa’ on this one. She and the girls should receive a portion of the merchandise sales. It’s their likeness and antics that are making the producers money. Regarding their salaries, I’m not sure. MTV is funding Jersey Shores and their pockets maybe a bit deeper then Bravos but I’m not sure. Either way, good luck girls. You deserve a decent percentage of the product you make possible.

American Idol Sued For $100 Million

Ian BenardoAmerican Idol is being sued for $100 million by a former contestant. Ian Benardo, originally sued the popular, televised talent show for $300 million but withdrew that lawsuit.

He re-filed and this time leveled a $100 million lawsuit at the company, claiming that the second figure was a “cleaner” number.

Benardo is suing for sexual harassment and discrimination. He claims that he was exploited because of his sexuality. According to Ian, the producers at Idol ordered him to “gay it up.” No word from American Idol concerning the suit.

I’m not a ‘legal eagle’ but I’m not so sure that he has a strong case. However, who knows? Perhaps American Idol will settle with Benardo to get the whole thing over with. That seems to be the way of the world now-a-days, simple settle and move on. Guess, we’ll have to wait and see. Don’t worry, we’ll keep you updated as best we can!

Glee Cast Not Getting Royalties Owed Them?

Cast of GleeThe Glee cast may not be that gleeful after all. It looks like at least some of the cast members are a bit peeved about not getting royalties they feel are due to them from Sony for a CD recently released by the music label.

The executive producer of Glee, Ryan Murphy, inked a deal with Ralph Schmidt-Holtz, the CEO of Sony.

However, the cast wasn’t included in the deal.

The cast now feels cheated and in my opinion, rightfully so.

Perhaps to spite Sony some of the cast have signed their own deals with other labels. Mark Salling has signed with Pipe Dream Records and Matthew Morrison has joined the Mercury Records roster.

‘Sue Sylvester’ to Make An Appearance On iCarly

Jane LynchSue Sylvester (Jane Lynch), you know of Glee fame, is making a guest appearance on the popular tween show iCarly.

She is playing Sam’s (one of the characters on the show for those of you are over 13 and haven’t seen it) mom on the episode. She is loud, obnoxious and a little violent just like Sam’s character.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with iCarly, its a show aimed at adolescents and young teens. Some moms like it too becuase they are forced to watch it with their children, at least at first.

Its about three young teens who have a web show and one of their brothers, who has custody of one of the teens, Carly. Its a pretty funny show and well written.

It looks like Jany Lynch appearnce is going to be a pretty funny spot.

Via the previews, she’s acting pretty aggressive, bossy and plenty of funny! Make sure to tune in.

‘The Situation’ To Put On His Dancing Shoes

The Situation‘Dancing with the Stars’ looks like it’s going to be quite interesting this year. They’ve gathered a pretty eclectic group of participants.

Besides ‘The Situation’ of New Jersey Shore fame, Kurt Warner, Bristol Palin, Audrina Patridge and David Hasselhoff, amongst others, will fight it out to determine who’s the best ballroom dancer of them all.

It looks like one participant, The Situation, will be at a disadvantage. While all of the other participants will begin practicing on Monday, August 31st, The Situation won’t be able to start practicing until September 8th. This is because he has New Jersey Shore obligations.

We’re just making a guess here, but our feelings are this, The Situation will likely need all of the help that he can get. If he only gets half of the time as the other contestants, which some are suggesting that he will, The Situation will probably be in big trouble. That’s too bad for him, but likely very entertaining for the rest of us!
